Evaluation of the psychometric properties of the Iranian version of the COVID-19 burnout scale (COVID-19-BS)

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the psychometric properties of the Iranian version of the COVID-19 burnout scale (COVID-19-BS. Materials and Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed on 137 participants in Yasuj, Iran., A semi-structured interview was done following linguistic validation to assess face validity. Exploratory factor analysis (EFA) and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA) were used to evaluate the scale structures (n = 137). In addition, the reliability of the questionnaire was assessed by internal consistency and test-retest analysis. Results: The content validity index (CVI) and content validity ratio (CVR) scores for COVID-19-BS were 0.90 and 0.94, respectively. A two-factor solution (a symptom of physical and mental burnout after the COVID-19 subscale) appeared on the EFA test explained 67.51% of the variance observed. The CFA results for the two-factor model extracted for COVID-19-BS show an acceptable fit for the proposed model. Also, acceptable results were shown for internal consistency (Cronbach's alpha from 0.89 to 0.73) and intra-class correlation coefficients (between 0.72 and 0.80). Conclusion: The Iranian version of COVID-19-BS is valid and reliable for measuring burnout issues of COVID-19.
